Miracles do happen.

As I'm sure everyone has hear, Elizabeth Smart is home. Of course, the politiclly correct "homeless man" who kidnaped her is being called a "drifter" by the press.

They're at it again
This report from the Washington Post says it all about the French:

France said it does not support the idea of an ultimatum. It wants to "set out a framework for inspections with a work program and a precise calendar," de Villepin said.

In other words, France wants to preserve its economic and military ties to Iraq. They want to sell Iraq French goods and buy Iraqi oil (France controls something like 22% of Iraqi oil output). They want to establish a system of rewards of which they, naturally, would reap the economic benefits.

From the front lines

Here are a couple of articles I spotted in the Kurdistan Observer that make interesting reading:

Three Reasons For Turkey To Fire Its Weapons In Iraq
A Plea From The People Of Iraq

The first article makes the Turkish reluctance to allow American troops use their territory much clearer. It has zip to do with opposition to the war, and everything to do with a border dispute with the Kurds that's been going on for some time. Naturally, the mainstream media hasn't said a word about this.
